Cuthbert, M, Ripley, NJ, Suchomel, TJ, Alejo, R, McMahon, JJ, and Comfort, P. Electromyographical differences between the hyperextension reverse-hyperextension. J Strength Cond Res 35(6): 1477–1483, 2021—The aims of this study were to compare muscle activation erector spinae (ES), gluteus maximus (GMax), biceps femoris (BF) during (HE) reverse-HE (RHE) exercises. Ten subjects (age, 23 ± 4 years; height, 175.9 6.9 cm; mass, 75.2 9.7 kg) had electromyography (EMG) electrodes placed on ES, GMax, BF muscles in accordance with SENIAM (Surface EMG for Non-Invasive Assessment Muscles) guidelines. Subjects performed 3 maximum voluntary isometric contraction trials lumbar extension hip using a handheld isokinetic dynamometer, respectively, normalize HE RHE Three repetitions each exercise executed randomized order. High reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient ?0.925) was observed low variability (coefficient variation [CV] < 10%) all but GMax phase (CV = 10.64%). During flexion phases, exhibited significantly greater (p ? 0.024; 34.1–70.7% difference) peak compared tested. Similarly, resulted mean 0.036; 28.2–65.0% except 9.960). Therefore, could be considered as higher-intensity posterior chain HE, potentially eliciting increases strength muscles.

Hyperextension injuries of the spine.
Little has been written about hyperextension injuries in comparison with other mechanisms of’ injury to the spine. Probably the explanation for this is that in the cervical spine hyperextension injuries are much more difficult to diagnose radiologically, and in consequence proportionately fewer of these injuries are diagnosed by surgeons and radiologists than are flexion and vertical compressio...

Vertebral Artery Occlusion Following Hyperextension and Rotation of the Head • This is a case report of a lateral medullary syndrome of Wallenberg following occlusion of one vertebral artery and stenosis of the opposite artery precipitated by combined motion of hyperextension, rotation, and lateral flexion of the head within physiological limits. Sufficient duration of such head position appear...

متن کاملHyperextension dislocation of the cervical spine.
The purpose of this report is to describe hyperextension dislocation of the cervical spine and to illustrate its often subtle radiographic features. An analysis of the lateral cervical spine radiographs in 20 patients with hyperextension dislocation of the cervical spine revealed the combination of diffuse prevertebral soft-tissue widening together with normally aligned cervical vertebrae in al...
